We believe business should be a force for good in the world. Every year we make year-end contributions to organizations that resonate with us. For 2023, here's our list:

Fauna & Flora International

Fauna & Flora International's project at Pu Mat National Park in Vietnam focuses on protecting the park's diverse wildlife, including the northern white-cheeked gibbon, Asian elephant, and red-shanked douc langur. The organization collaborates with community-based conservation teams to strengthen law enforcement, remove illegal snares, and monitor animal populations. Notable achievements include the establishment of community-based patrol teams, completion of park-wide camera-trap and snare prevalence surveys, and development of new models for community-based monitoring.

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT)

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is renowned for its elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in Kenya. They work extensively in the conservation of elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife, often rescuing orphaned animals and rehabilitating them for release back into the wild. Their efforts include anti-poaching initiatives, community outreach, and habitat preservation.

In 2023, SWT saw their elephant family grow with the recent arrival of formerly orphaned Chyulu's newest baby boy, Charli. In time-honored tradition, she proudly presented him to her former human caregivers soon after birth! Learn more: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org

Tsavo Trust

Tsavo Trust operates in Kenya's Tsavo Conservation Area, focusing on the protection and conservation of wildlife, particularly the black rhino and big tusk elephants. Their work involves anti-poaching patrols, wildlife monitoring, and community engagement programs to promote coexistence between wildlife and local communities.

Save the Redwoods League

Save the Redwoods League had a significant year in 2023, achieving milestones in forest conservation and public engagement. Key achievements include the acquisition of the Russian River Redwoods, protecting the Clar Tree and river frontage, and transferring Red Hill to the USDA Forest Service for long-term management. They made progress in redwood forest restoration and opened a new welcome center at Big Basin Redwoods State Park.

Future Generations Need Our Stewardship

This year's achievements by these four organizations underscore their unwavering dedication to wildlife and habitat conservation. Each organization's unique approach — from protecting endangered species in Vietnam and Kenya to preserving ancient redwood forests — illustrates the diverse ways in which committed teams can make a significant impact on our planet. Their success stories are a testament to the power of collaborative conservation efforts in shaping a more sustainable and harmonious relationship with nature.
